CRW Access is a trading name of CRW Projects Ltd. CRW Projects is a family owned business with many years of experience in engineering design, manufacturing and construction throughout the UK. The business was originally started in 1995 and has grown over the years. The company was established in 1997 and has expanded its trading since formation. The company has a number of business activities that include manufacturing, electrical design and installation, construction and commissioning management, commercial letting and equipment hire.
The access equipment hire business developed from requests by local York Businesses to provide access to the tall buildings located in the narrow streets of York city centre. Many property owners have experienced difficulties in maintaining their properties. Simple exercises such as clearing gutters and painting frontages have been made difficult due to the extensive requirements needed to use the public highway directly fronting their properties. CRW Access not only provides the equipment for hire, but also provides a planning service for the use of this type of equipment on the public highway. This includes providing a detailed access plan of the area in front of the property, provision of signage, pedestrian barriers, permit applications to York Council and managing the establishment and dismantling of the work area. The equipment available for hire includes mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP), scissor lifts, hand assembled access towers, access podiums, trestles and staging boards. The mobile elevating work platforms (commonly known as cherry pickers) in our fleet are of the articulated boom type. CRW Access provides a choice of trailer mounted or self-propelled models.
